>> Each passenger has to fasten his seat belt (except for the driver). If your child is too small to seat on an adult seat, you may seat him on your knees.
BULKY ITEMS
I purchased a small piece of furniture in a shop and the driver refused to take me over. Does he have the right to do so ?
>> Taxi drivers are free to refuse pieces of luggage that can not be transported by hand. The should also avoid loading a parcel which may dirty or damage the interior of his vehicle.
ANIMALS
The taxi driver I ordered refused to take me over because I had a dog. Is it legal ?
>> Regulations allow a taxi driver to refuse animals except for guide dogs. Ask when reserving.

TAKING OVER
A taxi driver refused to take us because we were 4 people. Is it legal ? I have hailed the taxi on the street but it did not stop. Why ?
>> Each taxi has to be able to take over at least 3 passengers (besides the driver). When you hailed it, was the light actually “green” and were you at least 50 m away from a taxi station ?
At the taxi station, I wanted to take the 3rd taxi in the row and the first drivers were angry. Does this mean I can’t chose my taxi? Are there different prices depending on the type of vehicle ?
>> The take over charge is mandatory except :
- if the first vehicles do not have enough space for the people who wish to travel or if they do not meet the material needs (size and number of luggage, payment means …).
- for people holding the card “difficulty in remaining standing”. These people may take the closest vehicle even in the raw.
- for long distance rides.
As prices are regulated, the cost will be the same no matter what the model and category of the vehicle is.
ITINERARY
Can I chose my itinerary ?
>> The driver must follow the most direct way. However, he has to meet travelers’ requests (special itinerary, detours, stopovers…).
How can I be sure that the way is the right one and that the driver does not take another road on purpose ?
>> The simplest and most reinsuring way is to verify that the way suggested by GPS is respected. If this is not the case, ask the reason (maybe because of road works or congestion …).

What do you mean by ZUPC ?
>> The ZUPC, or Zone Unique de Prise en Charge (=Unique Taking Over Zone) includes 24 cities besides Lyon. It is more or less the equivalent of the greater Lyon area (Métropole de Lyon) plus Saint Exupéry airport.
